Outreach

“Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be forgotten.” 2 Corinthians 9:9

As obedient servants of our Lord we strive to reach out to people in need within our community and in other areas of the world. Sharing God’s love, through acts of kindness & support, is our purpose & our joy.

The first Sunday worship service of every month is “Outreach Sunday”, a time for our congregation to give, by donating items that are needed for local charitable organizations.

Some of the organizations we regularly support are …

We also provide for the military men and women who selflessly protect our freedoms that God has granted us. Every week we participate in a tutoring program for the children of Marines at Camp Pendleton that need extra help for their studies. Every year we collect ball gowns & accessories for the Marine Corps’ wives who would like to attend the Marine Corps Ball but do not have the resources to purchase them. Outside of our community our congregation financially supports the “Wounded Warriors” project. We financially support “World Vision” providing education for our “adopted” child in South Africa. Once a year we participate in the Samaritan’s Purse “Christmas Child” ministry providing shoeboxes filled with toys & goodies. The shoeboxes are distributed throughout the world for needy children.

Our Quilting Ministry is another significant part of our Mission Outreach. Twice a month the Quilters meet to make quilts for people in need of comfort, love & prayer. The quilts are given to people struggling with health issues, women’s shelters and others.

Once every month the Quilters also host a “Quilting for our Wounded Day” where members of our congregation and the community gather together to make quilts for our wounded soldiers. The quilts are sent to Afghanistan and given to the men and women as they leave the field medical facility to receive treatment and hospitalization away from combat. These quilts are made with prayer, love and appreciation for our soldier’s comfort & recovery.

It is our purpose to give to others with love in appreciation for all that God has given us.
