Our History

“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

Capistrano Community Church was founded in November, 2001 and has had a rich history over our 18 years. For ten years the church worshiped on the grounds of Rancho Capistrano in San Juan Capistrano. When the land was sold the church moved to a temporary location in Aliso Viejo while a permanent church home was identified. In May of 2012, Capistrano Community Church found a new home, returning once again to its roots in San Juan Capistrano. The location allowed for our congregation to worship in a beautiful setting, with room for our many ministries, small groups, offices and all that God has in store in future years to come.  Since June of 2019, we have been worshipping at Brookdale, San Juan Capistrano.

Pastor Richard Anderson, who retired in November 2016 and was finally called home to the Lord in June 2019, was called to be the pastor since CCCs inception and he was dedicated to the vision put in place from the very beginning. You can read about his amazing story about how he answered God’s calling, and how it changed his life in an Orange County Register article published in August, 2013.
